Meet Suh! He gained his freedom on Superbowl Sunday as one of the Superbowl Six breeder releases. Suh is a 9-month-old, 37-pound English Bulldog puppy. Much like his namesake (Ndamukong Suh), Suh is all about rough and tumble type of play and basically being a bull in a china shop. He is a happy, roly poly puppy who loves to snuggle. He is happy to be the center of your attention and content to play with his toys. He's still a puppy so commands and manners are a work in progress.

Suh is all about FUN! He absolutely loves everyone he meets: people - young and old, dogs - male and female, rabbits as well as dog statues in the yard. He immediately lays down with his butt in the air, stubby tail wiggling (okay so his whole butt wiggles) trying to engage play. They aren't interested?  No worries, Suh doesn't give up easily. He hasn't been exposed to cats, but he didn't immediately chase a bunny so he's probably okay with them. He loves to play, so he can sometimes be that pesky lil’ brother who is undeterred by a foster sibling's quick snips or barks who have had enough. He is strong, so when he runs its full force without brakes. He walks well on a leash until he doesn't want to. He likes his kennel once inside, but does have to be coaxed in. Once inside, he is calm, quiet and will often snuggle down and take a nap.

Potty training is a work in progress due to his age.  He’s just a baby after all!  A big, wrinkly, baby but still! He often barks when he needs to go out and he does not potty in his kennel. His adoptive family will need to have patience and consistency to help him establish a routine. Also, he loves to chew on things so "puppy proofing" the area and supervision is a must as well as providing him with plenty of appropriate chews and toys.

Medically, Suh gets a superstar rating. He did have a cherry eye which was corrected with surgery.  He is currently being treated for worms and will finish that treatment soon. He has been neutered and is up to date on vaccines. Having been in a kennel since birth, he is learning to regularly use his back legs and in just a short time, he has mastered thresholds and one step. He does not yet know how to climb stairs, but with time and training, he should be able to handle them just fine. His teeth, since he is a puppy, sparkle and he does not have bad breath! He has folds along his nose that will need daily cleaning.

Suh would do well in a home that has a sibling that he could play with and who would not be annoyed by his antics. He does have a lot of energy and a yard would make a perfect place for him to expend it! Please apply for Suh if you think your home can accommodate this sweet and happy boy!

While in foster care, all our dogs are thoroughly vetted.  Any discovered medical issues will be disclosed above.  Our Lucky Bulldogs (and their smushie-faced buddies) are cleared by their vet for adoption prior to us accepting applications.  All our dogs will be up to date on Rabies & DHPP vaccinations, up to date on Heartworm preventative after a negative Heartworm test, and spayed or neutered prior to being adopted out to their forever homes.  Often times, our dogs are given dentals and sometimes nare-widening surgery if needed while under anesthesia. All surgical and medical history we have will be shared with adopters.  Further details can be discussed with the foster volunteer during the phone interview for the applications that are chosen to proceed to the phone interview part of the adoption process.

All our dogs are crate trained unless otherwise noted on their "All About" pages.
Apply for Suh

We will accept applications for our available dogs for 1-2 weeks except in cases of overwhelming popularity where we may stop accepting new applicants sooner. Once we have stopped accepting applications, we will review them and proceed with a phone call with our top two applications to chat about the dog being applied for, go over the adoption process, and answer any questions the potential adopter has. After phone calls take place, we will decide on our top applicant choice and proceed to contact them to schedule a home visit (in person or via video chat), and check vet and personal references before the adoption is ready to be completed. This process can take up to 6 weeks.
