Scooby is a fantastic foster Frenchie! He has a good amount of puppy energy during the day, but also takes time to enjoy a good nap on the couch with his humans. He likes any and all people, especially when they play tug-o-war with him! Scooby loves to be as close as possible to you when resting, and would love to be able to follow you around all day if you let him. Scooby is very food motivated and smart, he's already learned to "kennel in" (getting in his crate when needed) and when he sees the bag of snacks (or anything that resembles a snack) he immediately will sit for a sample of whatever it is. Scooby sleeps in his crate at night, and goes in without a problem as long as there's snacks involved. See where he got the name Scooby?
Scooby will need to go to a home with no other animals besides dogs. His foster home has a cat (arch nemesis!) that Scooby wants to chase, and glares at the cat through the baby gates. Scooby also lives with a bird that he is very interested in as well, and while he hasn't tried to chase the bird, he has had a pretty extreme staring competition with it. Scooby's foster family thinks Scooby would do great with someone who will allow him to be a puppy and play with him, take him on long walks, and let him sniff every tree if he so pleases. He can be a couch potato (let's be real, who isn't at this time with the quarantine) but would do great with someone who is home at least part of the day. If you allowed him to sleep in a human bed, he would be over the moon.
Scooby does have the Frenchie yodel down, so if you are looking for a relaxed walking partner, he is not your boy. Scooby has yodeled since we picked him up, and no amount of treats can get this boy to stop while you are out on a walk with him and he sees another dog. He doesn't howl any other time but when seeing other dogs on his daily walks, and is not much of a barker at all. Scooby would do okay in an apartment as he doesn't make much noise, but he would prefer something with a yard so he can make his daily rounds sniffing out every blade of grass. To add to this, he will need a fenced yard with a minimum 4' tall fencing, with no areas for him to try and escape or dig out. Scooby was surrendered for being socially awkward at his previous home. He likes to be right up in your business and is learning boundaries while in his foster home, but i order for this to be successful, his adopting family will need to understand that he will need to continue learning.
Scooby's adopting family should know about his environmental allergies and what steps to take to keep him feeling his best. At this time in his foster home, he hasn't had any flare ups with allergens, but takes a weekly bath to keep feeling good. If his allergies come back, the adopting family may need to get him to the vet for some different type of treatment. Scooby is just such a wonderful foster, and such a snugglebug! He loves being right next to his people, and is hoping for a perfect family to adopt him!

While in foster care, all our dogs are thoroughly vetted. Any discovered medical issues will be disclosed above. Our Lucky Bulldogs (and their smushie-faced buddies) are cleared by their vet for adoption prior to us accepting applications. All our dogs will be up to date on Rabies & DHPP vaccinations, up to date on Heartworm preventative after a negative Heartworm test, and spayed or neutered prior to being adopted out to their forever homes. Often times, our dogs are given dentals and sometimes nare-widening surgery if needed while under anesthesia. All surgical and medical history we have will be shared with adopters. Further details can be discussed with the foster volunteer during the phone interview for the applications that are chosen to proceed to the phone interview part of the adoption process.
All our dogs are crate trained unless otherwise noted on their "All About" pages.

-Scooby is no longer accepting applications-
We will accept applications for our available dogs for 1-2 weeks except in cases of overwhelming popularity where we may stop accepting new applicants sooner. Once we have stopped accepting applications, we will review them and proceed with a phone call with our top two applications to chat about the dog being applied for, go over the adoption process, and answer any questions the potential adopter has. After phone calls take place, we will decide on our top applicant choice and proceed to contact them to schedule a home visit (in person or via video chat), and check vet and personal references before the adoption is ready to be completed. This process can take up to 6 weeks.
