Reba is the sweetest girl with the most loving soul. She loves to cuddle and be near her person so she can make sure they know she loves them and appreciates them. Once she is comfortable, she loves to play, shake her booty, and get her tummy rubbed. She makes a great sleeping partner, she finds her spot on the bed and will stay there until you’re ready to get up for the day. There will definitely be some snoring, but it’s not bothersome, it shows that she is relaxed.
Reba is great with other dogs and she loves kids. Her temperament is so easy going. When her foster siblings bark, she just sits there calmly and doesn’t join in. She’s doing amazing with potty training and only uses her potty pads when she’s left alone for awhile. She understands what going outside means. She doesn’t love using a leash, so someone with a yard would be preferred for Miss Reba. I have never seen Reba jump, so she will appreciate a boost if you want her on the couch or bed with you or a sturdy set of stairs. Reba is the biggest love bug and any home she goes to will be SO lucky to have her. She doesn't understand boundaries so a fenced yard is a must. She doesn't understand a leash either. She is so nervous and skittish that it took her two weeks to walk down two stairs and out the back door of her foster house. It will take her a while to warm up to a new house and humans. She still has accidents and has not figured out how to alert her foster parents that she needs to go outside. It has been helpful to have other dogs around to show her the ropes. She will do best in an experienced dog home to shower her with patience and love! |
While in foster care, all our dogs are thoroughly vetted. Any discovered medical issues will be disclosed above. Our Lucky Bulldogs (and their smushie-faced buddies) are cleared by their vet for adoption prior to us accepting applications. All our dogs will be up to date on Rabies & DHPP vaccinations, up to date on Heartworm preventative after a negative Heartworm test, and spayed or neutered prior to being adopted out to their forever homes. Often times, our dogs are given dentals and sometimes nare-widening surgery if needed while under anesthesia. All surgical and medical history we have will be shared with adopters. Further details can be discussed with the foster volunteer during the phone interview for the applications that are chosen to proceed to the phone interview part of the adoption process.
All our dogs are crate trained unless otherwise noted on their "All About" pages.

We will accept applications for our available dogs for 1-2 weeks except in cases of overwhelming popularity where we may stop accepting new applicants sooner. Once we have stopped accepting applications, we will review them and proceed with a phone call with our top two applications to chat about the dog being applied for, go over the adoption process, and answer any questions the potential adopter has. After phone calls take place, we will decide on our top applicant choice and proceed to contact them to schedule a home visit (in person or via video chat), and check vet and personal references before the adoption is ready to be completed. This process can take up to 6 weeks.
