Now this is a story all about how my life got flipped-turned upside down. I’d like to take a minute, lay right there, and tell you how I became the queen of a town called Des Moines.
Macey’s the name and finding my furever home is the game. The last six years of my life have been spent being a mother to several litters and now, thanks to the folks at Lucky Bulldog Rescue, I’m ready to lead a pampered life. What’s that, you want to know what I love? Glad you asked, that would be naps, treats, naps, cuddles with my hoomans, and more naps. If you can’t tell by now, I love living a low-key life now that I have no responsibility.
My foster siblings are fast paced so I tend to ignore them, but also love them. The foster parents tell me I have a wiggle butt when I get excited and tell them what a beautiful girl I am. They also try to not make lots of loud noises as I’m still getting accustomed to living the life a queen is supposed to. So, if your home can continue to help me with that, I’d greatly appreciate it until I get comfortable with you. I walk well on a leash, but let’s be honest with each other, long walks aren’t my thing but you giving me treats and petting me are! I’m still working on the potty training but don’t potty in my kennel and, if kept on a schedule, will not potty in the house. I’ve spent most of my life in a crate so I’d love it if I didn’t have to spend it in there a lot, don’t worry it’s my safe space so I may go in there from time to time.
Speaking of siblings, if I have younger, hooman siblings I may be a bit nervous if they make loud noises or approach me quickly and will retreat to my safe space. However, I’m a quick learner so I’m most certain we can grow together with that. I sure hope my bio gives you some insight to me and that you’re just as excited about me being in your family as I am yours.

While in foster care, all our dogs are thoroughly vetted. Any discovered medical issues will be disclosed above. Our Lucky Bulldogs (and their smushie-faced buddies) are cleared by their vet for adoption prior to us accepting applications. All our dogs will be up to date on Rabies & DHPP vaccinations, up to date on Heartworm preventative after a negative Heartworm test, and spayed or neutered prior to being adopted out to their forever homes. Often times, our dogs are given dentals and sometimes nare-widening surgery if needed while under anesthesia. All surgical and medical history we have will be shared with adopters. Further details can be discussed with the foster volunteer during the phone interview for the applications that are chosen to proceed to the phone interview part of the adoption process.
All our dogs are crate trained unless otherwise noted on their "All About" pages.

We will accept applications for our available dogs for 1-2 weeks except in cases of overwhelming popularity where we may stop accepting new applicants sooner. Once we have stopped accepting applications, we will review them and proceed with a phone call with our top two applications to chat about the dog being applied for, go over the adoption process, and answer any questions the potential adopter has. After phone calls take place, we will decide on our top applicant choice and proceed to contact them to schedule a home visit (in person or via video chat), and check vet and personal references before the adoption is ready to be completed. This process can take up to 6 weeks.
