Are you looking for a stage 5 clinger to call your own? Meet Lester! Hi, I’m Lester! A 4 year old English Bulldog who has been retired from the breeding game and is ready to find my soul human. What can I say? I’m a stud! Errr… WAS a stud!
I was recently diagnosed with hypo-plastic trachea (narrowing of the trachea). Those are just some fancy words that mean I need to stay at my fighting weight, you will need to keep a close eye on me in the heat, and my vet will need to know in case of any illnesses as they may cause difficulty breathing, but no further treatment is needed. I DID get a nose job to help with my snoring - I asked for the Jared Leto, but my doc must have gotten confused because it doesn’t look that different, but I DO breathe better!
I’m not potty trained, but am working on it. Frequent breaks are essential and training should continue to be successful since I was fixed. I am kennel trained and sleep there at night. It’s not my favorite because I’d rather be snuggled up in bed with you. I promise not to hog the covers TOO much! I also like romantic short walks in the neighborhood and do pretty well on a leash, if I do say so myself. I also live for a road trip. I just love the wind breezing through my jowls. I’m a little bit of a stalker (read as: A LOTTA BIT), but on the bright side, you will never have to go looking for me. I will always be by your side. Just think of me as a large English Bulldog shaped freckle on your leg. I love, love, love being loved. If you’re on my level - in my mind your lap is fair game. My stalkerish tendencies mean I don’t know the first thing about personal space – but my foster family keeps working with me on it and telling me about their “bubble.” The only bubbles I like are the ones I make in my bowl when I’m drinking water. I love other dogs and am able to keep my stalkerish ways in check and follow their cues. But if you guys are playing, I want in on the action - I can’t help myself! So I might need some help learning my place in your pack. Not to brag, but I am SUPER smart and a quick learner, especially when snacks are involved (food is my love language). I had 22 teeth removed which increased my loveability as my breath is MUCH fresher. However, since there are no more teeth in the front, my tongue sticks out a lot - it only enhances my charm. Also, I’d really love it if you would soften my food a little. Fun facts: My fur is fluffy like a bears and I have the weirdest tail - it’s flat like a beaver’s - it’s weird for a bulldog, but you know when I am happy! I’m looking for the peanut butter to my jelly, the glaze on my donut, the icing on my cupcake, the bacon with my eggs, the cheese in my macaroni, the sprinkles on my ice cream… could it be you? Apply today, if so! (Geeze, now I’m hungry for some reason…)

While in foster care, all our dogs are thoroughly vetted. Any discovered medical issues will be disclosed above. Our Lucky Bulldogs (and their smushie-faced buddies) are cleared by their vet for adoption prior to us accepting applications. All our dogs will be up to date on Rabies & DHPP vaccinations, up to date on Heartworm preventative after a negative Heartworm test, and spayed or neutered prior to being adopted out to their forever homes. Often times, our dogs are given dentals and sometimes nare-widening surgery if needed while under anesthesia. All surgical and medical history we have will be shared with adopters. Further details can be discussed with the foster volunteer during the phone interview for the applications that are chosen to proceed to the phone interview part of the adoption process.
All our dogs are crate trained unless otherwise noted on their "All About" pages.
All our dogs are crate trained unless otherwise noted on their "All About" pages.
We will accept applications for our available dogs for 1-2 weeks except in cases of overwhelming popularity where we may stop accepting new applicants sooner. Once we have stopped accepting applications, we will review them and proceed with a phone call with our top two applications to chat about the dog being applied for, go over the adoption process, and answer any questions the potential adopter has. After phone calls take place, we will decide on our top applicant choice and proceed to contact them to schedule a home visit (in person or via video chat), and check vet and personal references before the adoption is ready to be completed. This process can take up to 6 weeks.
