Faster than a speeding turtle, more powerful than an antique pedal car, able to leap into a dog bed in a single bound. Look, up on the couch! It's Kelce! Like all superheros, Kelce's origin story is shrouded in mystery. Her days in the commercial breeding industry have left some scars, both mental and physical, but that doesn't stop her from being the superdog she knows she is at heart. She busies herself by doing good dog deeds such as snuggling her foster siblings, figuring out the dog door, and helping Foster Ma by following her from room to room. This superdog is super snuggly, super smart, and super silly.
Kelce has figured out that Nylabones are her Kryptonite! They make her sooo sleepy that she needs a nap after chewing on them. If it's not the Nylabones, it's the toys. Kelce can often be found sitting on a blanket with her pile of toys and looking quite pleased with herself. Foster Ma wonders if Kelce said something along the lines of "Toys Assemble!" or something like that. We may never know...
Kelce has learned to use the doggy door and does well if she is kept on a schedule. You could even say, Holy Potty Pads Batman, she's pretty darn potty trained! When she arrives in her new home, she will need a consistent routine, praise, and patience to maintain her newfound super powers.
Kelce isn't totally invincible. She's shown some arthritic tendencies and has limped on occasion, but she has not been officially diagnosed with arthritis. After a thorough examination, our vet felt she has the trifecta of poor confirmation, poor nutrition in her previous life, and cramped kennel quarters. Foster Ma gives Kelce a daily joint supplement and along with good food and exercise to strengthen her muscles, she should see some improvement.
Kelce is still affected by her past in that new, loud noises or fast movements startle her. She's shown improvement since she joined the rescue on Superbowl Sunday. She loves snuggling Foster Ma and her foster siblings. She isn't picky about the shows you choose to binge as long as you leave room for her on the couch. Kelce would do best in a quiet home with older children who are able to respect her needs. With time and patience she should come out of her shell and fully embrace the pet life.
Kelce has been spayed, vaccinated, and had her teeth cleaned. If you are ready to add a superdog to your life, all you need do is light the Bat Signal errr click the Apply Button.

While in foster care, all our dogs are thoroughly vetted. Any discovered medical issues will be disclosed above. Our Lucky Bulldogs (and their smushie-faced buddies) are cleared by their vet for adoption prior to us accepting applications. All our dogs will be up to date on Rabies & DHPP vaccinations, up to date on Heartworm preventative after a negative Heartworm test, and spayed or neutered prior to being adopted out to their forever homes. Often times, our dogs are given dentals and sometimes nare-widening surgery if needed while under anesthesia. All surgical and medical history we have will be shared with adopters. Further details can be discussed with the foster volunteer during the phone interview for the applications that are chosen to proceed to the phone interview part of the adoption process.
All our dogs are crate trained unless otherwise noted on their "All About" pages.

We will accept applications for our available dogs for 1-2 weeks except in cases of overwhelming popularity where we may stop accepting new applicants sooner. Once we have stopped accepting applications, we will review them and proceed with a phone call with our top two applications to chat about the dog being applied for, go over the adoption process, and answer any questions the potential adopter has. After phone calls take place, we will decide on our top applicant choice and proceed to contact them to schedule a home visit (in person or via video chat), and check vet and personal references before the adoption is ready to be completed. This process can take up to 6 weeks.
