Are you looking for a dog who a not so typical Bulldog is filled with all the energy, loves playing and going on walks, but still has cuddly down time? You’ve found the right dog…Katie!
My name is Katie, and I am super fun girl who has atypical Bulldog energy, but typical Bulldog love for my people. I never leave their side. If they go upstairs, I go. If they go downstairs, I go. If they sit on the couch, I’m right next to them! I have no concept of personal space, but I don’t see that as a flaw at all! I just want to make sure you know I love you. Did I mention I love to cuddle? It’s my favorite. My other true love is outside. I love going on walks and do a fantastic job walking on a leash. I love playing in the yard as well, but you cannot leave me alone as I am an escape artist. I also love other dogs and toys I love to play with them! I am a toy hoarder and sometimes shoes seem like toys to me. If you are missing a shoe, check my kennel, it’s probably there.
I get so bummed when my humans have to leave, and I tend to make it known. If you have a routine and remind me, you’ll be home, I will lay in my crate and wait for you to be home. However, if it's not our routine or something is different, I will try really hard to get out of my crate. With time and patience, I will learn that my humans really do come back every time and kenneling should become easier for me. While I’m in my kennel, I’m powering up for play time and when you get home it’s go time! After I get the zoomies out, I’m down for a cuddle.
I am very healthy and have no health concerns aside from typical Bulldog heat intolerance due to my short nose. I cannot get overheated and need to be reminded to stop sunbathing when it’s warm out. I am house trained, but I don’t signal that I need to go out yet. When taken out on a schedule, I have no accidents.
I do eat my food VERY fast, so my foster mom got me an elevated puzzle bowl and I have been doing great with it. I like to lick every last crumb out of it and then check the other dog bowls just to make sure I didn’t miss out.
My only behavioral is, I often get too excited and jump on people, but I am working it. I also will put my mouth on your hands, arms, or legs to try and get your attention. It's a light nip, more of an attention getter. However, my foster parents have been working with me on it and I don’t do it to them anymore, but with visitors I still just can’t help myself! My foster parents have been teaching me “easy”. After you’ve settled in, I no longer do it and will sit by your side.
My foster parents say my perfect family would have someone that gives me lots of love and attention, and all the pets. I’d really like another dog to hang out with and a family that includes me in their life!

While in foster care, all our dogs are thoroughly vetted. Any discovered medical issues will be disclosed above. Our Lucky Bulldogs (and their smushie-faced buddies) are cleared by their vet for adoption prior to us accepting applications. All our dogs will be up to date on Rabies & DHPP vaccinations, up to date on Heartworm preventative after a negative Heartworm test, and spayed or neutered prior to being adopted out to their forever homes. Often times, our dogs are given dentals and sometimes nare-widening surgery if needed while under anesthesia. All surgical and medical history we have will be shared with adopters. Further details can be discussed with the foster volunteer during the phone interview for the applications that are chosen to proceed to the phone interview part of the adoption process.
All our dogs are crate trained unless otherwise noted on their "All About" pages.

We will accept applications for our available dogs for 1-2 weeks except in cases of overwhelming popularity where we may stop accepting new applicants sooner. Once we have stopped accepting applications, we will review them and proceed with a phone call with our top two applications to chat about the dog being applied for, go over the adoption process, and answer any questions the potential adopter has. After phone calls take place, we will decide on our top applicant choice and proceed to contact them to schedule a home visit (in person or via video chat), and check vet and personal references before the adoption is ready to be completed. This process can take up to 6 weeks.
