Do you enjoy taking leisurely walks around the block at someone else's pace? Do you want to increase your couch potato time from minutes to hours, days even? Do you have an affinity for drooly kisses? Is mopping the floor on your list of favorite activities? Have you ever wanted a dog who has no brain cells, but makes up for that with the cute? DO WE HAVE THE DOG FOR YOU!
Jimbo is as sweet as they come and a bit of a goofball. His Doctorate in Physics may have been lost in the mail, but man oh man is he good at running full tilt around the living room with a toy in his mouth for minutes at a time. He loves to be with his people and dutifully follows them from room to room. He shamelessly begs to be helped up on the couch and forgets to breathe when you scratch his ears.
Do you often have visitors? Jimbo will happily accept them into your home with a sloppy kiss or two thousand. Kids are a go, but we'd prefer them to be 8 and older because he has the weight of a small planet and the agility of a drunk giraffe so he will most likely run over smaller kiddos. He's never been around a cat, but his foster mom is pretty confident that he would not be respectful of the cat's boundaries, claws, life, etc. It's just better if he doesn't meet one. He does like dogs and plays well with others, but his size may be a bit much for very small dogs. He currently lives with a 25 pound dog and they do just fine.
Jimbo is crate trained. He snoozes the day away while his foster family is at work and sleeps in it through the night. He is a deep sleeper and he can often be found laying flat out on his back with his fat little paws flapping in the air. His snoring is epic, prepare your eardrums. He'd LOVE to sleep in bed with you. He would really like it if you got a set of those dog stairs so he could get on the bed by himself because he truly cares about your lower back and the potential hernia you may receive from lifting his *ahem* portly behind and gigantic noggin on and off the bed each day.
Jimbo is still working on potty training, but with a consistent schedule, he will find success in the yard and not on your floor. He is a man of routine and always runs to the backdoor when foster mom lets him out of his kennel. He know where the treats are! He uses a doggy door in his foster home for #2 consistently and can potty on a leash as well.
Jimbo is healthy, but he is your typical Bulldog. His nose is essentially a hood ornament and his airways are short. Therefore, he cannot tolerate high temperatures or excessive exercise at all. Air conditioning and quick potty trips during hot weather are a must! In fact, his nose is so short that the really good sniffs require him to tilt his head so far forward his forehead touches the ground. It's pretty adorable to witness! He is a very drooly dog and he will require a mat under his food and water because he is one moist fellow! He is up to date on his vaccines and has been neutered.
If you have read this far and feel that a short, furry, big headed, doofus is the dog for you - then apply today!

While in foster care, all our dogs are thoroughly vetted. Any discovered medical issues will be disclosed above. Our Lucky Bulldogs (and their smushie-faced buddies) are cleared by their vet for adoption prior to us accepting applications. All our dogs will be up to date on Rabies & DHPP vaccinations, up to date on Heartworm preventative after a negative Heartworm test, and spayed or neutered prior to being adopted out to their forever homes. Often times, our dogs are given dentals and sometimes nare-widening surgery if needed while under anesthesia. All surgical and medical history we have will be shared with adopters. Further details can be discussed with the foster volunteer during the phone interview for the applications that are chosen to proceed to the phone interview part of the adoption process.
All our dogs are crate trained unless otherwise noted on their "All About" pages.
All our dogs are crate trained unless otherwise noted on their "All About" pages.
We will accept applications for our available dogs for 1-2 weeks except in cases of overwhelming popularity where we may stop accepting new applicants sooner. Once we have stopped accepting applications, we will review them and proceed with a phone call with our top two applications to chat about the dog being applied for, go over the adoption process, and answer any questions the potential adopter has. After phone calls take place, we will decide on our top applicant choice and proceed to contact them to schedule a home visit (in person or via video chat), and check vet and personal references before the adoption is ready to be completed. This process can take up to 6 weeks.
