Hi, my name is Jethro.  I have just met you, and I love you!

Jethro is a six month old Ori-Pei (Shar Pei mixed with Pug) puppy who is ready to join your family.  He enjoys gently terrorizing his foster potato’s into playing and running happy laps in the backyard all by himself just for funsies.  Since he is a puppy, he can be found chewing on all the things.  His favorites are squeaky toys and bones.  He has desperately tried to convince his foster mom that it’s better if she holds said chewies for him, but she's not so sure.  When he's not busy chewing on toys or aimlessly running around the backyard, Jethro may or may not be stepping on his foster siblings and giving a blank expression when you try and explain personal space and boundaries.  Blank stares and all, he's very smart!  He’s 100% potty trained if the dog door is open.  He's learning to curl up and snuggle when he wears himself down, help himself to green tomatoes straight from the plant, watch tv, yelling at squirrels to get off his law, and he has successfully learned to stop right in front of you when you're walking.    What can we say, he's just a puppy who puppies really well.  With time, consistency, and love he will become the trusted family dog he's meant to be, but until then he's going to walk on your head while you lay on the couch and then run around in circles for no good reason.

Jethro has been neutered, had his nares (nostrils) widened, and had Entropion surgery on his eyes.  He's up to date on vaccinations and is a health young pup.  He sleeps in his kennel, but loves to snuggle foster ma in bed too.  He's mostly potty trained, but due to his age he may still have some accidents when he transitions to his new home.

While in foster care, all our dogs are thoroughly vetted. Any discovered medical issues will be disclosed above. Our Lucky Bulldogs (and their smushie-faced buddies) are cleared by their vet for adoption prior to us accepting applications. All our dogs will be up to date on Rabies & DHPP vaccinations, up to date on Heartworm preventative after a negative Heartworm test, and spayed or neutered prior to being adopted out to their forever homes. Often times, our dogs are given dentals and sometimes nare-widening surgery if needed while under anesthesia. All surgical and medical history we have will be shared with adopters. Further details can be discussed with the foster volunteer during the phone interview for the applications that are chosen to proceed to the phone interview part of the adoption process.

All our dogs are crate trained unless otherwise noted on their "All About" pages.

Apply for Jethro

We will accept applications for our available dogs for 1-2 weeks except in cases of overwhelming popularity where we may stop accepting new applicants sooner. Once we have stopped accepting applications, we will review them and proceed with a phone call with our top two applications to chat about the dog being applied for, go over the adoption process, and answer any questions the potential adopter has. After phone calls take place, we will decide on our top applicant choice and proceed to contact them to schedule a home visit (in person or via video chat), and check vet and personal references before the adoption is ready to be completed. This process can take up to 6 weeks.
