“Hello friends, I am Greta, the nearly three-year-old petite Blue Sable French Bulldog who was surrendered to rescue because I was allergic to my cat siblings. Can you believe it, a dog allergic to cats?!”
“Hey Greta, that’s not the only reason.”
“Pardon moi?”
“Yeah, you were kinda bossy and mean to strangers too.”
“Exsqueeze me?”
Foster Ma here, Greta is a beautiful little dog, with a heart of gold who sometimes exhibits the typical Frenchie "make me" attitude. She will need owners who are confident and consistent in providing firm leadership and boundaries. Otherwise, she is a good little dog who would love to become a member of your family.
Greta loves, loves, loves playing with her Chukit ball. She's good at chasing the balls her foster ma throws for her, but bringing them back is entirely up to Greta! She also loves, loves, loves going on walks and can easily do a mile without losing steam. Once she is done with the walkies or chasing the ball, she will snuggle in for a cuddle on the couch.
She is currently living with dog siblings and does okay with them, but she can and does fun police any playtime activities. This has lead to some love bites and hurt feelings, but Greta is pretty proud of her nickname, Greta B! Due to her dominant personality and super cute nickname, she will need to live with similarly sized submissive dogs or better yet, she could be an only child! Her nickname also limits her from going to dog parks or doggy daycare.
Greta does have some health issues, some are bigger than others. First, she was born with a heart defect that was corrected with surgery as a puppy. She is just fine now and you'd never know she had an issue. She will need lifetime twice a day medication to maintain her blood pressure or that will be the end of her story. Her pills currently cost about $8.00 for 30 pills which are then quartered, so her meds are not going to break the bank, that’s for sure! Next, she has luxating patellas on both hind legs. They are not bad enough to need surgery and they do not affect her in the slightest. Miss Thang also has a pretty comprehensive list of known allergies including: corn, beef, oat, pea, peanut, pork, rice, and turkey as well as most of the outdoors and cats! She does just fine if she sticks to her kibble and treats, so people food is a hard no. Lastly, she will sometimes vurp up her water if she drinks too fast.
Greta is 100% potty trained and kennel trained. She spends her days chewing on a ball or snoozing while her foster fam is at work. At night she likes to sleep with one of the humans but will settle for the kennel if told to. She will come with some food and meds to get you started. Greta would do well in an apartment as she's a quiet dog, she's little, and loves going for walks.
Let’s summarize, shall we? Potty trained, up to date on vaccinations, spayed, kennel trained, cute as heck, and her medical issues are firmly under control with inexpensive meds. If she seems like the perfect fit for you, apply today!

While in foster care, all our dogs are thoroughly vetted. Any discovered medical issues will be disclosed above. Our Lucky Bulldogs (and their smushie-faced buddies) are cleared by their vet for adoption prior to us accepting applications. All our dogs will be up to date on Rabies & DHPP vaccinations, up to date on Heartworm preventative after a negative Heartworm test, and spayed or neutered prior to being adopted out to their forever homes. Often times, our dogs are given dentals and sometimes nare-widening surgery if needed while under anesthesia. All surgical and medical history we have will be shared with adopters. Further details can be discussed with the foster volunteer during the phone interview for the applications that are chosen to proceed to the phone interview part of the adoption process.
All our dogs are crate trained unless otherwise noted on their "All About" pages.

We will accept applications for our available dogs for 1-2 weeks except in cases of overwhelming popularity where we may stop accepting new applicants sooner. Once we have stopped accepting applications, we will review them and proceed with a phone call with our top two applications to chat about the dog being applied for, go over the adoption process, and answer any questions the potential adopter has. After phone calls take place, we will decide on our top applicant choice and proceed to contact them to schedule a home visit (in person or via video chat), and check vet and personal references before the adoption is ready to be completed. This process can take up to 6 weeks.
