Chumley and Dublin are 9 year old, biological and bonded brothers. They came to the rescue after their human parents passed away in a tragic accident. Although it has taken a while for them to fully adjust to their new way of life, they are truly coming into their own and are such loving, attention seeking, young-at-heart senior French Bulldogs. Chumley (white) will be 9 years old this summer, was born deaf, and is truly a special little beluga whale. (We couldn’t help it, his head is so big and adorable!) He loves walks (most of the time) and sleeping in his bed or at his human friends' feet. He is very possessive of his food, so he does get to eat his meals away from his brother and his foster brothers. Generally his foster dad assists him in eating, as sometimes he is a little slow and his underbite makes it tricky to get every piece of food out of the bowl.
When Chumley first came to his foster home, it was discovered he can also be possessive of toys. With the dramatic life change he has went through, his foster dad cut him a little slack. Chumley is now on Prozac to help him in this life-changing process and it has helped tremendously with his possession issues. Chumley is absolutely adorable and craves affection. Being deaf, he can be a bit noisy and growly, but his foster dad doesn’t think he even knows he is doing it. He even makes a little growl noise and paws at you if you stop petting him. He loves attention! He is fully potty trained and has been accident-free since moving into his bachelor pad with his brother. He and Dublin sleep together in their kennel at night, but they would love to sleep in a big comfy bed with their new family.
Dublin (black) will be 10 years old late this fall and despite having some neurological weakness in his back end and a heart murmur since birth, this little man is truly young at heart. Neither condition slows him down and although he does enjoy napping, he loves being on the go. His absolute favorite thing is to play fetch with his ball in the backyard; he could literally play for hours! Dublin also loves taking walks and practically jumps into his harness. In addition, he always leads the pack, even with his weaker backend. He currently gets acupuncture once a month and it really helps keep him moving like a puppy. His vet said he has great mobility and it really doesn’t slow him down from doing anything (except hardwood stairs).
Dublin doesn’t love when Chumley gets possessive of things and sometimes will get snippy with him. His foster dad discovered he doesn’t like to be sprayed with water from a spray bottle, so all he has to do is lift the bottle up and Dublin turns around and walks in another direction. As these two have settled into their foster home, they really have started adjusting well and their issues are becoming more and more infrequent. They can be a real life version of Grumpy Old Men, occasionally testy with each other, but best friends two minutes later. Dublin is his foster dad’s shadow and tails him everywhere he goes. He has even tried to get in the shower with him.. What a creep! :) He is potty trained, although sometimes he gets sooo excited to play with his ball outside, he forgets to go to the bathroom and has accidents when he comes back inside. With a regular schedule and some encouragement, he does well remembering to go outside. Typically he starts his day with a walk or some fetch and this gets him moving and successful in being accident free. Just like Chumley, he loves attention and looks forward to cuddling on the couch at the end of the night with this brothers and foster dad.
Chumley and Dublin are truly a unique pair of brothers, who come with a heart breaking back story. They have so much life and love to give and deserve an amazing home to spoil them in their senior years.

While in foster care, all our dogs are thoroughly vetted. Any discovered medical issues will be disclosed above. Our Lucky Bulldogs (and their smushie-faced buddies) are cleared by their vet for adoption prior to us accepting applications. All our dogs will be up to date on Rabies & DHPP vaccinations, up to date on Heartworm preventative after a negative Heartworm test, and spayed or neutered prior to being adopted out to their forever homes. Often times, our dogs are given dentals and sometimes nare-widening surgery if needed while under anesthesia. All surgical and medical history we have will be shared with adopters. Further details can be discussed with the foster volunteer during the phone interview for the applications that are chosen to proceed to the phone interview part of the adoption process.
All our dogs are crate trained unless otherwise noted on their "All About" pages.

We will accept applications for our available dogs for 1-2 weeks except in cases of overwhelming popularity where we may stop accepting new applicants sooner. Once we have stopped accepting applications, we will review them and proceed with a phone call with our top two applications to chat about the dog being applied for, go over the adoption process, and answer any questions the potential adopter has. After phone calls take place, we will decide on our top applicant choice and proceed to contact them to schedule a home visit (in person or via video chat), and check vet and personal references before the adoption is ready to be completed. This process can take up to 6 weeks.
