When we accept new dogs into the LBR Family, each are vetted and behaviorally assessed to best be able to know what type of forever home environment would be best for each dog. We announce our new arrivals on our website and social media pages and will sometimes have updates on them as they progress through the foster process. Occasionally we will have meet & greet events where you can meet current foster dogs, but we do not set up individual meetings with any of our dogs.
When our Board and our vets determine our dogs are ready to find their forever homes, we will create a page on our website dedicated to each individual dog with photos and information about that dog's health, behavior, likes, dislikes, foster location, adoption fee, and special needs, if any. We will post the links to our dogs' "About" pages on social media to notify our followers that we have published full details and have begun accepting applications for that dog. If you read about a dog who you feel would be a good fit for your family, please fill out an application on that specific dog using the link on his or her "About" page. All our dogs have unique personalities, preferences, and needs. Our goal is to get our dogs into the perfect forever homes, so we do not pre-approve applications.
Our adoption fees range from $200 for older or special needs dogs, up to $700 for a healthy French or English Bulldog age one and under. Our adoption fees are based on age, health and breed. All dogs are altered (spayed or neutered), thoroughly vetted, up to date on shots and heartworm testing/medication before being adopted to their forever homes. We adopt to anywhere in the US and Canada as long as applicants are willing to come and pick up the dog at the listed foster location if chosen as that dog's forever family.
We will accept applications for our available dogs for 1-2 weeks. In cases of overwhelming popularity, we will stop accepting applications when we've received approximately 20 applications for one dog. Once we have stopped accepting applications, we will review them and proceed with a phone call with out top two applications to chat about the dog being applied for, go over the adoption process, and answer any questions the potential adopter has. After phone calls take place, we will decide on our top applicant choice and proceed to contact them to schedule a home visit (in person or via video chat), and check vet and personal references before the adoption is ready to be completed. This process can take up to six weeks.
