Calling all Sons of Anarchy or Ron Perlman fans- Clay could be your very own celebrity look alike! Primed with a mean mug, this boy is nothing but a big ole’ lap dog looking for a family that he can attack with lots of love nibbles, some sloppy kisses, and especially one who will get down on the floor to let him crawl in their laps. This fluff of wrinkles and fur does NOT know his own size, and tends to barrel into people when he is wanting to play tug of war or wrestle on the floor. Clay is also not scared to use his voice when playing; he often using barks and deep growls to get you to play or to ‘take’ his stuffy away from him so he can chase it. While his growls and barks are not aggressive, they can sound scary. Because of this combined with his overzealous nature, we feel that a home with younger children would not be ideal. He loves his people and tends to follow them wherever they go, unless of course its nap time, which lets keep it real, is almost any time! If you also like long, leisurely walks down your driveway, or maybe even to the mailbox (if it’s in your front yard), this boy is your boy!
Overall, Clay is a happy, healthy English Bulldog. He doesn't mind other dogs and gets along just fine with his two foster siblings. He does tend to get a bit grumpy with dogs who get into his face and are overly exuberant as he really isn’t into playing with anything other than stuffies or people, he just likes his personal space! Clay does have some allergies, but this has been maintained with a daily Zyrtec and occasional baths with medicated shampoo if his skin gets a little stinky and itchy.

While in foster care, all our dogs are thoroughly vetted. Any discovered medical issues will be disclosed above. Our Lucky Bulldogs (and their smushie-faced buddies) are cleared by their vet for adoption prior to us accepting applications. All our dogs will be up to date on Rabies & DHPP vaccinations, up to date on Heartworm preventative after a negative Heartworm test, and spayed or neutered prior to being adopted out to their forever homes. Often times, our dogs are given dentals and sometimes nare-widening surgery if needed while under anesthesia. All surgical and medical history we have will be shared with adopters. Further details can be discussed with the foster volunteer during the phone interview for the applications that are chosen to proceed to the phone interview part of the adoption process.
All our dogs are crate trained unless otherwise noted on their "All About" pages.

We will accept applications for our available dogs for 1-2 weeks except in cases of overwhelming popularity where we may stop accepting new applicants sooner. Once we have stopped accepting applications, we will review them and proceed with a phone call with our top two applications to chat about the dog being applied for, go over the adoption process, and answer any questions the potential adopter has. After phone calls take place, we will decide on our top applicant choice and proceed to contact them to schedule a home visit (in person or via video chat), and check vet and personal references before the adoption is ready to be completed. This process can take up to 6 weeks.
