Maude joined Lucky Bulldogs Rescue after she was released from the commercial breeding industry. Her baby making days are over and she is learning to love the pet life.
Maude is an affectionate, sweet, and intelligent French Bulldog. She gets along well with other dogs, loves everyone she meets, and has found a special joy in carrying around toys. Maude is also a certified level 5 clinger. She wants to be with her people at all times. Maude has displayed separation anxiety when crated and will bark if she cannot see you. Therefore, she cannot live in an apartment or any type of housing with shared walls. Maude would make an excellent work from home companion as long as your microphone doesn't pick up her snoring while she snoozes next to your desk.
Maude is nearly potty trained, and if kept to a schedule she does really, really well. When she goes to her new home she will need consistency and routine to complete her potty training journey. Maude is new to walking on a leash, but she is great at following the lead of her foster siblings and should catch on quickly if you have a resident dog. If not, she is eager to please and with time she will be cruising the neighborhood with you.
Maude has been vaccinated, had her teeth cleaned, and is spayed. At this time she has no known health issues and is ready to be your girl. If you think she's the one, apply today!
While in foster care, all our dogs are thoroughly vetted. Any discovered medical issues will be disclosed above. Our Lucky Bulldogs (and their smushie-faced buddies) are cleared by their vet for adoption prior to us accepting applications. All our dogs will be up to date on Rabies & DHPP vaccinations, up to date on Heartworm preventative after a negative Heartworm test, and spayed or neutered prior to being adopted out to their forever homes. Often times, our dogs are given dentals and sometimes nare-widening surgery if needed while under anesthesia. All surgical and medical history we have will be shared with adopters. Further details can be discussed with the foster volunteer during the phone interview for the applications that are chosen to proceed to the phone interview part of the adoption process.
All our dogs are crate trained unless otherwise noted on their "All About" pages.
We typically will accept applications for our available dogs for 1-2 weeks except in cases of overwhelming popularity where we may stop accepting new applicants sooner. Once we have stopped accepting applications, we will review them and proceed with a phone call with our top applications to chat about the dog being applied for, go over the adoption process, and answer any questions the potential adopter has. After phone calls take place, we will decide on our top applicant choice and proceed to contact them to schedule a home visit (in person or via video chat), and check vet and personal references before the adoption is ready to be completed. This process can take up to 6 weeks, but we do notify all applicants of the outcome.
